So Groovy by Davis Mallory

"'So Groovy' was written in Stockholm, Sweden at Ten Music Group (the publisher/studios for Swedish popstars Icona Pop, Zara Larsson, Benjamin Ingrosso) in summer of 2023. I wanted to write an upbeat feel good dance song after having written many times with produce Gustav Blomberg of Ten Studios, so we began creating "So Groovy" together. Upon completion of the song I felt like filming a music video in Miami had to happen. "So Groovy" reminded me a little of Gloria Estefan's "Rhythm is Gonna Get You" in some sonic way. The director I chose for the video - Dmitry Zhitov is a friend of Gloria's so we filmed at her iconic South Beach in Miami hotel - Cardozo with actress Eva Bauch. I love that the music video feels as though it was filmed in the 1980s or 1990s because Dmitry filmed with his Sony c100 - that has an old school film quality - not digital." - Davis Mallory
