The Christmas Tree by Antherius

December 5, 2025

Greetings all, Antherius here, spreading holiday cheer now that November is near. I'm a one-man synthesizer-based composer, performer, arranger, engineer, and producer living in Cypress, Texas (just outside of Houston). 2025 finds us celebrating my 20th year as a professional musician.

"The Christmas Tree" was originally composed and performed by David Rose and his orchestra in 1968. It remained a familiar instrumental Christmas tune up through the late 1980's; although, it mysteriously fell out of significant rotation in recent decades. Yes, this is the same David Rose that composed "The Stripper" instrumental hit in 1962. My goal with this cover release was to produce a higher-fidelity track, along with updated arrangements, but however retaining key parts of the original hit so as to be recognizable by older folks like myself who remember the original tune.

The main instruments include flutes, pizzicato strings, piano, and bells of course, rounded out with an electric bass, arco strings, various synth pads, and leslie-organ accompaniments.

I hope you enjoy my production of "The Christmas Tree" and have a very happy and memorable Christmas season this year!
