"In Time"
"There's a great description: '… like a knife-fight in a phone booth.' It conjures up claustrophobia, frenetic scrambles, and critical stakes. I heard it from a friend, as he described what he'd do if someone tried to fight him in an Uber. It was unintentionally hilarious. He told me all guys do this sort of combat-response mental-prep, in the Home Depot aisles, on the walks to their car in the parking garage. I didn't have the heart to tell him that it's OK to be afraid of the unknown. For me, the trick to navigating my fears is getting familiar with them." – alice the g00n

Out & About with The Rolling Stones
Saturday, July 13, at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles
I have to laugh. I remember in the early eighties in Boston while attending Emerson College, The Rolling Stones released Tattoo You and Start Me Up was THE SONG of the moment. There were rumors the band was coming to town. People were tripping over themselves trying to get details about the show. We all felt the need to see them before they called it a day. After all, they were getting old! Fast forward forty- three years, to 2024 at SOFI Stadium and those six iconic words rang out through the speakers once again…" Ladies And Gentlemen, The Rolling Stones", and then it happened, the opening notes of "Start Me Up" rang out and the crowd erupted as if no time had passed at all. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the Hackney Diamonds Tour, in support of their latest album, by the same name, is sponsored by AARP…these guys know who they're playing to. A Rolling Stones show is always a hit parade, and this night was no different. Fans were treated to Start Me Up. Get Off Of My Cloud, Tumbling Dice, Honky Tonk Woman, Gimme Shelter, Jumpin' Jack Flash and more! Although the guys are older, they still know how to rock and roll, and I like it.
Have a great week,
Scott Emerson
