The 9th Annual What's In-Store Music
Holiday Program
Is Officially Open For Business
It's time to submit your songs for the 9th Annual What's In-Store Music Holiday Program. That's right, it's time. Programmers are already hard at work, curating their In-Store Holiday Playlists and they've asked us to start sending music up for this year's program. Our holiday program has a little something for everybody, classics, covers, and original arrangements. This is a great opportunity for independent and major-label artists alike. But don't take my word for it, below are four artists who've participated in the past and are back again this year! Trust us, Dylan Scott, Matt Nathanson, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and WAR wouldn't be returning this year if they didn't feel the benefits. To learn more about it, click the blue button below, to submit your song, go ahead and hit the red one, but do it soon. Slots are filling up fast.

"The Garden"
"I was raised in a garden, and I'm not talking about cabbage patch kid style. My Dad is Dr. Jerry Parsons, a horticulturist in Texas. I have many childhood memories of wishing I was somewhere playing with my friends instead of working in the dirt. As I got older, this shifted. I wanted to help, and I understood the connection. It was his great joy and passion, and he opened my eyes to see nothing like it. So, one day, many years and miles away from said moment and place, I was sitting in my kitchen in East Nashville, starting to write and looking for inspiration, when my neighbor walked by the window. She had all her gardening gear and looked like she meant business. She immediately got to work. They had a fantastic garden, and she oversaw everything. Her name was and still is Brielle. Very wonderful person. Anyway, it immediately got me thinking of my father and our gardening adventures, which led me to think about what gardening does for us psychologically. It got my wheels turning and wondering what was going on in her life. How did that affect how she took care of the garden? How did that affect how she nurtured her own needs? Would both be affected in the process? So, when you listen to this song, think about your mental health and well-being as the garden and how you would work to make that grow." - Jeremy Parsons

Out & About with Juliana Hale
September 6, 2024 at Ole Smokey in Nashville, TN
Pictured her: Juliana Hale, along with Willie Jones, a member of the 615 JJ Entertainment team, who recently had a duet with Beyoncé and was a contestant on the X Factor.
This week's Out & About features What's In-Store Music's client and 615 J J Entertainment recording artist Juliana Hale as she played at Ole Smokey in Nashville. The crowd knew immediately this wasn't an ordinary night out the town. Rather than the country fare they are used to, the audience was treated to a terrific pop singer performing female-empowering songs. One such song, "Cry My Summer Away" is currently top 25 on the What's In-Store Music Chart, with over 22,000 + plays across over 12,000 retail outlets nationwide per week.
Have a great week,
Scott Emerson
