"Draw on My Jeans"

"'Draw on My Jeans' captures the bittersweet feelings of excitement and vulnerability experienced in the journey of falling in love… Many of my songs just come to me - either a melody dancing through my head or an interesting lyric idea. With DOMJ, the dreamy melody was something I had to get down to express that fanciful yet speculative newness of a new relationship and the lyrics spilled out afterward…. Whenever we open ourselves to dating, all of the different possibilities start running through our minds. Even if we have not even met the person yet! This song came to me before I had met someone…I was just thinking about the possibility of meeting someone new. I realized that whenever we start new relationships, we think about the potential, like the lyrics: "I've already planned the wedding." Yet at the same time, we're worried that it could also end quickly and "It'll hurt the same as any paper cut." The song compiles all types of words and thoughts that go through our heads as we vulnerably build a relationship."
