If It's Good Enough For Dean Martin…

What's In-Store Music is thrilled to announce, the addition of a never-before-released version of Dean Martin's "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" to this year's 9th Annual What's In-Store Music Holiday Program. That's right, thanks to Jason Elzy and the fine folks over at Iconic Artists Group(an Azoff Company), What's In-Store Music will be able to bring this unearthed classic to the masses through In-Store play this holiday season. We have so many great artists participating this year, I think I'll go to the mall one day, just to camp out with auto-Shazam on. In case you weren't aware, In-Store holiday music begins the day after Halloween, which is…right around the corner! If you have a Christmas song you'd like to get played in retailers this holiday season, use the submission link below and let us take care of the rest!

The Walmart & Sam's Club Radio Takeover

As we roll into the 4th quarter we wanted to do a little review of this year's Walmart & Sam's Club radio takeovers. Take a moment and enjoy the clips below to takeovers from Collective Soul, Judah & The Lion, Mat Kearney, and Almost Monday. Each act did an amazing job and brought their own style and personal taste to each takeover. Coming up on Saturday, November 9th, Walmart shoppers and anyone listening around the world through Walmartworld.com will be treated to country duo LOCASH as they take over Walmart Radio and Sam's Club Radio to play some of their songs, including their current single "Hometown Home", some of their favorites, and will cover several different topics, including their meat… lots and lots of meat. Curious as to what that's about? Tune in on November 9th to find out.

We are currently putting together our holiday takeovers for December and will announce that lineup soon. Contact Scott Emerson, Scott@whatsin-storemusic.com to learn more about this amazing opportunity.

"my little heart <3"

"I took a lot of inspiration from late 90s / early 2000s rom-coms for this era, and I did not have a single song touching remotely close to the subject of the ~love at first sight~ or meet-cute trope (wonder why). In all honesty, ‘my little heart <3’ is the only love song (or sort of love song, I guess?) I’ve ever been able to write, and I knew it’d be a favorite of mine when it only took me 45 minutes to write and was awarded the group chat replies of 'YO WHAT' and 'DUDEEEE' from my best friends and cowriters. The feelings, the imagery, the descriptors just fell out of me, and it was the best summer-sounding, bop-around addition. More than anything I love the rom-com references (how incredibly meta of me), and the self-awareness written into the chorus- something rom-coms don’t typically touch on but is typical of myself. The song’s just as fun as it is an admission of not really understanding what I feel for this someone."

Out & About with Lawrence

Wednesday, October 9th at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, CA

It was an amazing night of music as New York-based band Lawrence (fronted by brother and sister, Clyde and Gracie Lawerence), brought their "Family Business" tour to the SOLD-OUT, Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. At the pre-show fan experience, they were generous with their time and energy, playing songs not on the evening's setlist, performing a Q&A session, and sending everyone home with one-of-a-kind signed items. The music playing throughout the venue as people filed in was all business and work-related, (Flight of the Concords -Business Time, Tower of Power -Rhythm and Business, and course, Britney - Work Bitch) got the crowd pumped up for the main event. The show was amazing, and the crowd went wild for them. Personal highlights included, "Don't Lose Sight, "Whatcha Want", and "i'm confident that I'm insecure". There are still plenty of dates left on this tour. If they come to your town make sure to check them out.

Have a great week,

Scott Emerson
