It's Time To Submit Your Summer Releases

The sun is shining, the temperature heating up and summer is quickly approaching!!! That means graduations and summer vacations are right around the corner. Folks are filling up shops, malls, and restaurants as they prepare for the summer fun ahead, and What's In-Store Music artists are playing in thousands of locations, greeting them as they come in. Retailers are luring people into their shops with sales and keeping them in there longer with great music playing overhead. Shoppers, already in a good mood, armed with their wallets and cell phones go from store to store looking for great deals, many stopping to grab a bite in between. Some, while they are at it, are also discovering new music along the way. Studies have shown that the right In-Store music can keep customers in the stores longer. We are currently looking for upbeat, fun new music to help achieve that goal. If you have a new song that fits the bill, the time is now to submit it. Get it to us and we can make sure it plays all summer long, exposing it to millions of people while they are out and about. Go ahead and submit your song HERE, and let What's In-Store Music, do the rest.

"Heart's Desire"
"Crazy (Remix)"

"The song 'Crazy' is a love/relationship song. However, one day while looking around seeing everyone so engrossed with their phones etc. I thought, what if the story line will be about a love song between humans and A.I. I thought that would be a completely unexpected spin on a relationship song and then the video concept of the song was born. I had a blast with the making of the video, morphing between human and my A.I self was so much fun, I really enjoyed it. We went to work on it immediately and after the release, we received really good positive feedback on the concept. I'm so grateful for the download of the idea and I'm hoping to be an inspiration to other artists in this area. Maybe they will call me the 'godmother' of this concept in the music field."

Out & About With Leo Sawikin

May 2nd at Bar LUBITSCH in Hollywood, CA

From left to right: Leo Sawikin, Jen Lyneis, and Scott Emerson

It was a Thursday night at Bar LUBITSCH, which meant another installment of WFNM (We Found New Music) w/Grant Owens. Leading off the night was long-time What's In-Store Music client, (and one of our favorite indie acts), Leo Sawikin! It was a perfect opportunity for Leo to get on stage and work out his set before heading out on the road for a North American Tour supporting Jon McLaughlin. Starting off the show is never easy, but Leo handled it like a champ. Slowly but surely the crowd migrated from the back of the club toward the front, and the applause increased after each song until they were full-on cheering for him by the end. You don't see that every day. Keep an ear out, and Shazam handy for Leo Sawikin - New York, I'm Coming Home, as it plays overhead in retailers everywhere, and make sure to catch him on tour this summer. Big thanks to Jennifer Lyneis of UE3 Promotions, for a great night out!!!

Have a great week,

Scott Emerson
