Memorial Day Is Next Monday!
Memorial Day is Next Monday! Who's ready for the long weekend? Retailers, restaurants, hotels, and entertainment centers are for sure! Walk into practically every one of these places, and you will already see signs up for Memorial Day deals, specials, and sales! Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start to summer vacation and all that goes with it. People will be out in droves, families and friends will gather and enjoy each other's company. While all this is happening, What's In-Store Music artists will be playing overhead in stores everywhere as they shop, play, and dine. The future hits of summer 2025 will be entered into rotation, introducing customers to the new favorite song they'll be enjoying all summer long. The question is whether it will be YOUR song or not. Odds are probably not unless you get it to us this week, and we can get it into the retailers this weekend. if you have something you'd like to start playing this weekend and into next week, the time is NOW to submit your song with What's In-Store Music! Don't hesitate to submit your song HERE today!

"Higher"

When Toby Lightman sat down to write "Higher" six years ago, she had no idea the path this wonderful song would take. Fast forward to this year's American Idol finale…

I wrote "Higher" with my favorite co-writers back when I turned 40.. It took me 6 years to produce it exactly how I wanted to hear it, and I released it into the world. I wouldn't change a thing.. This song is my heart and always will be. ❤️ So when I heard @breannanixmusic from @americanidol wanted to record it as her first single, I was speechless. The message of "Higher" is of empowerment, strength, perseverance.. to go higher when it's not easy. I wrote about being a mother and getting older in a business focused on youth. The fact that Breanna connected in her own way and can now amplify this message to a larger audience is why I write songs. Let's all go "Higher"!! 💫 Thank you Breanna! ❤️ - Toby Lightman

Out & About at The Lauretta Records Showcase

The Hotel Café In Hollywood, CA 5/6/25

Last week's Out & About focused on Lauretta Recording Artist and What's In-Store Music client Jordan Frye's exceptional set at The Hotel Café in Hollywood. This week, we'd like to introduce you to the two Lauretta acts we caught before he took the stage, Prom King and Haleigh Bowers. Prom King, whose real name is Sascha Andres, took the stage from the first note out of her mouth, she commanded the room. She dedicated a sweet composition she wrote for her fiancé, called STAY, which touched everyone in attendance. Her take on the Erykah Badu classic Tyrone, showcasing her smooth vocals, really won me over. I'd see her again just to hear her sing it one more time. Next up was solo performer Haleigh Bowers. Haleigh hopped on the stool, center stage, and entertained the audience with her loose banter and songs ranging from topics like anxiety and addiction to a song about a dog…which she wrote on the spot. The showstopper of the night for her was a song called Trainwreck. You could hear audible gasps from the audience as soon as the song ended. It was a powerful moment. Congratulations to both artists on their wonderful sets and Lauretta Records for a great night of entertainment. For more on both fantastic artists, use the links below.

Have a great week,

Scott Emerson
