VXXK & Bailey Jehl
"To The Ceiling"

"Three years back, 'To The Ceiling' came into existence. I recall perfecting the beat, meticulously crafting the rhythm to capture the song's essence. When Bailey added her lyrics and vocals, it felt like the missing piece of the puzzle had finally fallen into place. The excitement of receiving her recorded vocals was amazing, and I dove into the post production process to bring our creation to life.

However, just as we were putting the finishing touches on the song, the world was thrown into chaos by the arrival of COVID-19. Like so many others, I found myself grappling with uncertainty, putting my musical ambitions on hold as I navigated the challenges of the pandemic. It was a tough decision, especially coming off the high of releasing two successful singles with Sony Music and making waves in the European dance charts.

Taking a step back to reassess my path forward, I realized that I needed a change. Instead of releasing the song under my old stage name, I felt a strong urge to reinvent myself and embrace a new identity that better reflected my evolution as an artist. And so, VXXK was born.

Pronounced "Vick," this new persona represented a fresh start, an opportunity to break free from the past and carve out my own path. With 'To The Ceiling' as my debut under this new name, I felt a renewed sense of purpose and excitement as I ventured into uncharted territory. Looking back on that decision now, I can confidently say that it was the right thing I did."

Out & About With Liddy Clark

March 20th at The Peppermint in Los Angeles, CA

Finally, we MEET!!! Over the past few years, if you've walked into a retail store, the odds are pretty good that at some point you've heard Crimson Rose Recording artist Liddy Clark's voice singing overhead. What's In-Store Music has played several of her songs in places like STAPLES, BEST BUY, SUBWAY, HAIR CUTTERY, COLD STONE CREAMERY, and dozens more. On Wednesday, March 20, it wasn't about her old songs. Liddy was the opening act at another Breaking Sounds showcase at The Peppermint Club in Los Angeles, where it was all about her new songs. The young and talented Ms. Clark has a new EP entitled "self-care: side a", due out this fall and she took this opportunity to treat the room to what we have to look forward to. Liddy and her five-piece band which included two backup singers providing beautiful harmonies went through the new selections which included "My Best Friend's Getting Married", "Why I Stay", "Evergreen", and the lead single "Inside" which will be released in May. Although Liddy has been a client for years, this was our first opportunity to see her live and we were thrilled to finally make that happen. We look forward to you hearing some of these terrific new songs playing overhead in the coming months.

Have a great week,

Scott Emerson
