June 4th, 2025

The weather is getting warmer, and the days are getting longer. Do you know what else is happening? The amount of time people spend, out enjoying themselves is increasing. With sunny days, lunch hours are suddenly becoming more like lunch hour and a half. Folks enjoying the warm evenings and staying out later. Shopping, dining, just strolling around, the later places stay open, and the later everyone stays out, the more opportunities for What's In-Store Music clients to have their songs heard. Without a doubt, summer is one of the best seasons to have your music playing overhead, as folks are out everywhere! If you have something new, you'd like to have to play this summer, you can go ahead and submit it right HERE!!

The Behind the Song feature is generally reserved for What's In-Store Music clients to share the story behind their song with our readers. This week, we decided to switch it up a bit and alert you to a real treat coming out this Friday, the Outlaw-Country inspired fourth album, Weekend Outlaw, from What's In-Store Music client and friend, James Robert Webb! You've heard his songs "Ride or Die" and "Lost In Vegas", playing overhead in retailers. Now it's time to experience the full Album.
Over four decades since Loverboy iconically reminded us that everybody’s “Working for the Weekend” and Waylon, Willie and company set the Nashville establishment on fire with their Outlaw Country movement, modern day storyweaver extraordinaire James Robert Webb offers a fresh 2020s twist on those empowering aesthetics with the drop of his highly anticipated fourth full-length album Weekend Outlaw...

Out & About with iHeart's
Tom Poleman, Gracie Lawrence, and Lakeside Entertainment's Dan Pearson
May 22nd, 2025 at The Circle In The Square Theatre, for the Broadway hit musical, Just In Time.
(Pictured taking in the Broadway performance of Just in Time on May 22nd are L-R iHeart's Tom Poleman, Gracie Lawrence, and Lakeside Entertainment's Dan Pearson)
They say the neon lights are bright on Broadway. They've sure been shining bright at The Circle in the Square Theatre, the home of The Bobby Darin musical, Just In Time.
The musical is based on the life of Bobby Darin and features his greatest hits. The theatre has been transformed into an intimate nightclub setting with cabaret-style seating.
The show stars Jonathan Groff in the lead role, along with fellow actors Gracie Lawrence, Erika Henningsen, and Emily Bergl, and is directed by Tony Award winner Alex Timbers.
We are excited to share the news that Gracie Lawrence has been nominated for a Tony Award for her portrayal of Connie Francis in the show. The Tonys will air live on Sunday, June 16th, on CBS.
What's In-Store Music readers will recognize Gracie as lead singer, along with her brother Clyde, of the New York-based band Lawrence. We were thrilled to play a part in their breakout single, "Don't Lose Sight", which not only played in stores but was also their first top 40 charting song and featured in a Microsoft Edge commercial. Gracie and the band have come a long way since then. You can check out Lawrence on several festival dates beginning June 15th and on their Family Business Tour, which picks up again in July and runs through November 1st, and then it's off to Europe through the end of November. Though they are selling fast, tickets are still available for performances of "Just In Time" as well as the Family Business tour. Use the links below to secure yours today!
Have a great week,
Scott Emerson
