What's Your Story?
At What's In-Store Music our mantra has always been "it's all about impressions". We believe the best way to promote your music is by getting as many impressions from as many avenues as possible all at the same time. Radio, marketing, in store play, video, social media and more. They all matter. More exposure creates more impressions. To that end we'd like to invite you to check out our Instagram stories. Check in each week as we highlight our latest chart debuts, Spotify adds, recently submitted music and a whole lot more. Check out the clips in the stories and then listen for the songs playing overhead in stores while you're out and about. Instagram: whatsinstoremusic, check us out! "Go See A Doctor"
“I wrote 'Go See A Doctor' summer 2023 while in Stockholm, Sweden at Ten Music Group (label/publisher/studios for Swedish popstars Zara Larsson, Benjamin Ingrosso, Icona Pop). I had just been in Iceland the week before writing this song, where I had met a guy who was cute and was interested in me - and as we said our goodbyes in Iceland - he said "I have to see you again" so I began pursuing him, trying to set up a second date, but he slowly dissapeared without an explanation. So the song "Go See A Doctor" came from this experience and became a mantra for me, a song I felt I needed to write to release the frustration. It's got an infectious production by Gustav Blomberg, it's short and sweet and thus makes you want to play it again and again, in true Swedish pop form!"

Out & About with MkX
At Milwaukee PrideFest on June 6, 2024
This week's Out & About, brings us to the wonderful city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where What's In-Store Music client and Planet X recording artist MkX kicked off his Summer Tour 2024 as a featured performer at the Milwaukee Pride Fest! The show was the perfect opportunity to showcase his new single "MAN WITH A MISSION", which is currently beginning to filter into in-store playlists as we speak. MkX and his dancers brought the heat with his high-energy set and positive message for the crowd, making him a perfect addition to the bill. His tour continues through the summer, wrapping up on September 8th in Oakland, California. Check out the flyer for a show near you. Thanks so much to Jennifer Lyneis, publicist extraordinaire and owner of UE3 Promotions for bringing us this talented young artist.
Have a great week,
Scott Emerson
