What's In-Store Music
An Important Piece Of The Puzzle

Creating an effective promotion and marketing plan is a lot like assembling a puzzle; it's not complete unless every piece is in place. Radio, social media, publicity, video, and streaming all target specific audiences and play a vital role in creating the maximum number of impressions.

However, no piece of the puzzle ties everything together quite like in-store play. Think about it: you tune into your favorite radio station, scroll through social media, read articles, or stream music you like. But you also encounter music when you walk into a store. This moment, when you're not actively seeking something new, opens up the opportunity to hear something you've never heard before. And because it's unexpected, it often catches your attention.

That's why so many songs are "Shazam'd" while people are out shopping; they didn't choose the song, but it grabbed them in that moment. this experience can lead to new connections with music that wouldn't have happened otherwise.

Let What's In-Store Music help complete your marketing puzzle by providing the piece that makes all your efforts work together seamlessly.

"Anxiety's A Trip"

"I wrote 'anxiety's a trip!' after thinking that the title could be really cool for a song for a couple of years. It started as a joke, to blow off steam from common frustrations anxiety can cause, but ultimately I'm proud of the actual song that came from it. Anxiety can feel overwhelming and impossible to escape, but music has always been my coping mechanism and I hope this song helps others out there like me :)".

At WorldPride DC on Sunday, June 1st 2025

This week we’re highlighting What’s In-Store Music Artist MkX, who hit the Main Stage at Global Pride in Washington, DC. Celebrating 20 years since his first show, MkX shared what it meant to perform for such an uplifting crowd. Here's what he had to say:

"WORLD PRIDE 🏳️‍🌈 Getting to perform on the Main Stage for such a loving and uplifting crowd was so meaningful. This year marks 20 years since my first show ever. Throughout my career, people told me that being openly gay in the music industry was a “problem”. I was told “No” countless times because people didn’t think the “gay kid” was marketable. Fast forward to 2025: I’m performing on the biggest stage in the world for LGBTQ+ artists, celebrating and encouraging everyone in the crowd to be their true selves to the fullest. Such a full circle moment. 🥺🧡" - MkX

Have a great week,

Scott Emerson
