You Laugh, But The Countdown Will Begin Soon Enough.

It seems counterintuitive to discuss holiday music right after celebrating the 4th of July. Most people don't even think about it at this point, but we do. This year, we are especially excited for the season because it marks the 10th anniversary of The What's In-Store Music Holiday Program. We pinch ourselves just thinking about it. Ten years of bringing holiday music from some of the biggest names in music, like Ed Sheeran, Dolly Parton, Smokey Robinson, and more! The program also embraces independent artists in a way that no other holiday music service can. There will be plenty of time to review different styles of music and deadlines to submit your songs. Here's a hint: it's a lot sooner than you think. Keep an eye right here as we prepare you to get your songs played during the busiest shopping season of the year. In the meantime, keep enjoying that sun, fun, and family, and we'll let you know when it's time to move on this. We already have 7 commitments for this year's program. It's never too early to reserve your spot, but at some point, it will be too late. If you have a holiday song and you know you'll want to participate, you can go ahead and submit it HERE.

"Anxiety's A Trip"

"I wrote 'anxiety's a trip!' after thinking that the title could be really cool for a song for a couple of years. It started as a joke, to blow off steam from common frustrations anxiety can cause, but ultimately I'm proud of the actual song that came from it. Anxiety can feel overwhelming and impossible to escape, but music has always been my coping mechanism and I hope this song helps others out there like me :)".

Out & About at The Tribe 10-Year Anniversary Show/Tribute to The Beach Boys
Thursday, July 3rd at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, CA
What a thrill it was to attend the 10th Anniversary of the TRIBE as they performed an All-Star Charity Concert & Tribute to The Beach Boys. The show, along with a very cool silent auction, was to benefit The Get Together Foundation, an organization founded in 2001 by Kevin and Mare Wachs. The Tribe, a self-described collective of musicians and celebrated artists, took the stage on Thursday, July 3rd, at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, CA, and treated the audience to a fun, fun, fun-filled night of Beach Boys classics. Not only was there a round robin of guest vocalists, but a sweet Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Stephen J Kalinich, a poet best known for his songwriting collaborations with Brian and Dennis Wilson. Big thanks to Guitar Center Music Foundation Chairman David A. Helfant and board member Fred Croshal, for sponsoring a table and inviting us to attend!
Have a great week,
Scott Emerson
