Just A Gentle Reminder
to Keep It Clean!!!

Every few months we need to send out this gentle reminder. One of the most important things to remember when submitting a song with us is to KEEP IT CLEAN! We can't accept songs with overly sexual themes, overt drug or alcohol references, or anything to do with weapons. Try picturing a mom in a grocery store, with one in a stroller and another little one in tow. We want her to be able to walk down the aisle without worrying about something playing overhead that would be inappropriate for her kids to hear. Some formats are more forgiving than others. Let's face it, if they don't mention drinking a beer in a country song, is it a country song really? If you have a song, you're not sure of, the best move is to send it to one of us here to review before you go through the submission process. We can listen and review the lyrics and let you know in advance what the issues are and give you the opportunity to address them before submitting the track to the programmers. If you're confident you have something clean and you'd like to get it started, feel free to do it right HERE.

38 Special Mark 50th Anniversary
With First Album in 20 Years,
Milestone, out September 19

On July 11, 2025 38 Special, the classic southern rock band behind worldwide hits such as “Hold On Loosely” and “Caught Up In You,” have announced their new album Milestone out on September 19. In celebration of the band’s 50th anniversary, their first new music in over 20 years features guests and co-writes with Pat Monahan (Train) and Randy Bachman (Bachman Turner-Overdrive / The Guess Who), and longtime collaborator Jim Peterik (Survivor, Sammy Hagar, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Cheap Trick).

Along with the announcement, 38 Special shared the lilting lead single, and accompanying music video, "All I Haven't Said" which nods to the melody-driven bands that came before them.

Out & About at The Lawless Brewing Company

Friday, July 11th in North Hollywood, CA

This week's Out & About, we visited The Lawless Brewing Company in North Hollywood, CA. The reason we chose to share this as an Out & About feature is because of the vibe created in this space by the music they played throughout the place. The clientele ranged from people in their early twenties to their mid-sixties, and the music reflected that in a way that was pleasing to everyone. The place is a space for regulars, some referring to it as their "Third Space" (the first two being their work and their home). The setup is "Get to Know Your Neighbor" style, with long tables and benches, fitting 2, 3, 4, even 5 different groups of folks all at one table. There was a crocheting club at one table, a board game group at another. Lots of Dodger fans and even more folks with their dogs, all chilling and grooving to Bob Marley, Fastball, Bad Bunny, The Police, My Morning Jacket, and more. The music was eclectic but seemed to fit well together. Speakers were set up inside and out, allowing folks to enjoy the vibe while visiting the adjoining craft fair and food trucks, all on the property. It was a perfect summer night in LA.

If you're in Los Angeles, check out The Lawless Brewing Company this summer. You'll be glad you did.

Have a great week,

Scott Emerson
