The new year is officially underway and first-quarter releases are being rolled out. Labels are in weekly marketing meetings getting their promotion/marketing/digital/sales and publicity heads on the same page. Independent promotion and marketing quarterbacks are putting together their "teams". Budgets dictate much of what can be done to achieve familiarity with your song. What's In-Store Music prides itself in being one of the most cost-effective tools you can use to help promote your music, no matter the size of your budget. While your radio campaign grows, your video is being serviced, publicity starts kicking in, and your online campaign widens its reach, in-store music is the one steady constant, playing overhead everywhere, tying it all together. Stores, restaurants, malls, hotels, gas stations, and more, Instore music allows your audience to run into your song while they are out, running around, living their lives. If you have a new release, make sure What's In-Store Music is a part of your plan. If you have something to submit, you can do it HERE.

Out & About with Kimberly Dawn
California Wildfires Benefit at Hotel Café on January 17, 2025
Tragedies like the fires over the past few weeks, in Los Angeles, can be overwhelming. Do you know what else is overwhelming? The amount of goodwill and support people give, acting together as one community in a crisis. Last week, Los Angeles didn’t feel like a big city, it felt like a small town with everyone looking out for each other. It was that giving spirit, that Independent artist and What’s In-Store Music client, Kimberly Dawn brought to the stage at the Hotel Café in Hollywood. Her set was dedicated to all the people affected by the fires, and one hundred percent of the proceeds went toward the relief effort to help them. I’m pleased to report the room was filled with people there to have a good time, hear great music, and support their community, from the moment she took the stage with her pink rhinestone bedazzled microphone in hand and started singing Kimberly commanded the room. She treated the crowd to original tunes from her catalog and showcased new, yet-to-be-released music. Highlights were the up-tempo “In Love With Tennessee”, which highlighted her five-piece band. “Faded Blue Jeans”, which she is putting the finishing touches on for an upcoming release, and her take on Miley Cyrus – “Flowers”. It was a much-needed evening of normalcy in an otherwise chaotic week. Thank you to Kimberly Dawn for a great night of music, and big thanks to my former Interscope workmate, Jesse Flohr for introducing me to this terrific artist.
Have a great week,
Scott Emerson
