Summer Vacation is Over for Santa

Summer vacation is over for Santa which can only mean one thing. It's time for him and the elves at the north pole to start preparing for Christmas. Yup, he's starting to get ready. He's making his playlist and checking it twice. That's right, his playlist. Santa loves the classics, but he also loves new original holiday songs. Let's be honest, how many times can he hear Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer before it drives him crazy? The programmers feel the same way. They love the classics, and they play a lot of them, but they're also looking for new, fresh original holiday songs to program, and they rely on What's In-Store Music to find them. If you have an original holiday song, you're going to want to submit it to us as soon as possible. Playlist scheduling starts in Mid-October, which is right around the corner. If you're ready you can submit it right here!

"Love Love Love"

"This fun, feel-good song is actually a Beatles tribute. The title 'Love Love Love' comes from The Beatles' 'All You Need is Love,' which begins with the lyrics "love, love, love." Also, the bridge lyrics in my song "Love Love Love" are a nod to John Lennon's "Imagine." I wrote and co-produced the song to be a purposefully retro style, too. I was visualizing the flower child era, with everybody swaying back and forth holding hands and feeling the peace and love. The drummer on the track said that he played like Ringo. Overall, this track is an infectiously melodic reminder of the timeless message that love is truly all you need. Listen to "Love Love Love" and see if you can catch the references!" – Angela

Out & About with Kenzo Cregan

August 15, 2024 at Bar Lubitsch in West Hollywood, CA

It was another great night of independent music at the Thursday night installment of the We Found New Music with Grant Owens showcase at kitschy cool, Bar Lubitsch. As always, there was a wide variety of tremendous talent, with solid sets from St. LundiFrankie Bird and others throughout the evening, but nobody got the place going like Headbitch Recording Artist and What's In-Store Music client, Kenzo Cregan. This talented, singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist had the crowd on his side from the moment he took the stage. The highlight of the evening for us of course when he played his single SARA, which is currently holding down the #35 spot on the What's In-Store Music Chart, playing more than 22,000 times a week in retailers across the country. For all things Kenzo check out the link below. Thanks so much to Dan Pearson at Lakeside Entertainment for turning us on to this talented young artist.

Have a great week,

Scott Emerson
