Labor Day Is Right Around The Corner

You've only got a few more weeks to wear white-then it's time for Labor Day! Along with the long weekend comes a rush of Labor Day Sales. Shoppers will be flooding into retailers nationwide, and What's In-Store Music artists will be playing overhead to greet them.
Stores will stay open late, slashing clearance prices to move inventory while making room for autumn and holiday merchandise. Crowds will be out, phones in hand, ready to discover their next new favorite song while they wait in line to pay.
Will your track be the one they Shazam? It can be-if you've submitted it to What's In-Store Music today. Got something new? Submit it right here!

Let's Talk about Christmas Music

We know-it might sound a little nut to bring up Christmas music in the middle of summer. But believe it or not, the holiday season is sneaking up fast! And that means it's time for our favorite event of the year: the 10th Annual What's In-Store Music Holiday Program!
This one-of-a-kind program gives your holiday tracks the chance to shine during the busiest shopping season of the year. And guess what? There are still tons of you who've never submitted a holiday song before. Why not make this the year you jump in?
You already know how we roll-your priority songs get placed where they'll actually get heard. And when it comes to Christmas, the overhead music space turns into the wild, wild west. Everyone's playing holiday tunes, which means artists can end up in hundreds (sometimes thousands!) more locations than usual.
And we're not stopping there. The holiday program also comes with a built-in online marketing boost to get even more ears on your music.

"Jealous Heart"

"The idea initially came from my dog Benny. He’s insatiably jealous, he’s a rescue that came to me very mixed up and abused. He was a biter.
Jealous Heart is about relationships. There are so many barriers human beings sometimes have for authentic, open loving relationship. Especially ones who’ve experienced trauma. The closer people get sometimes the barb wire goes up, the moat, the walls, etc… when we find ourselves jealous in situations it’s not really about the other person. It’s about ‘the work’ or healing we need to do for ourselves. Jealousy is a natural feeling and a certain amount of it is healthy. When your heart starts melting in a relationship, when you start to become vulnerable, how will you react, how will you behave? Will you lean in or sabotage everything?"

Out & About with Kimberly Dawn
at the Hotel Café in Hollywood, CA on Thursday, August 7th 2025

Country took over The Hotel Café on August 7th as What's In-Store Music artist Kimberly Dawn, along with Megan Barker and Lockwood Barr, brought a burst of Nashville energy to Hollywood. Judging by the crowd's response, it was exactly what the town needed. The trio traded lead vocals, swapped stories, and debuted fresh tunes to an enthusiastic room. For Kimberly Dawn, that meant unveiling her new single Kentucky Kiss-a tender ode to young love. The night was filled with love, laughter, and great music, leaving everyone eager for the next time these talented ladies share the stage.
Have a great week,
