Labor Day is Coming

Labor Day is coming, and with it comes all the sales! All the malls, shops, car dealerships, mattress stores, and more get into the act. What do all those places have in common? What's In-Store Music clients are playing overhead when you enter all of them, that's what! Millions of Americans will be passing through the doors of these establishments with their phones in hand, ready to pay for items and shazam songs. I know that's what I'll be doing, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of you will too. If you have a new song you'd like to have playing overhead during the holiday weekend, the time to submit it to What's In-Store Music is NOW!

Taking Reservations

We are pleased that one of our most highly anticipated promotions, The 9th Annual What's In-Store Music Holiday Program will be here before you know it. We were planning on starting the process of reserving slots for this popular program in September but some of you couldn't wait. We already have eleven acts confirmed for this season so we figured we may as well go ahead and start now. If you know you have a holiday release coming, and you'd like to have it playing in stores during the busiest shopping season of the year, contact Scott Emerson at Scott@whatsin-storemusic.com. Better yet if it is finished, go ahead, and submit it. The earlier we get it the better. When they flip the switch, your song will be ready to go.

"Little Black Dress"

Fresh from her European/UK tour opening for Charlotte Sands, AJA is thrilled to announce the release of her highly anticipated single, “Little Black Dress”. This irresistibly upbeat anthem, infused with AJA’s signature soulful voice, is more than just a feel-good pop song; it's a powerful celebration of self-confidence and body positivity. “Little Black Dress” encapsulates a universal message that resonates with listeners of all ages, encouraging them to embrace their true selves with pride. AJA’s dynamic vocals and infectious energy make this track an instant favorite, promising to uplift and inspire.

“Little Black Dress” is about being proud of who you are and feeling empowered by the choices you make. It’s about those moments when you look into the mirror and see the reflection of confidence looking back at you. When I slip into my little black dress it transforms my mood, boosts my confidence, and makes me feel empowered. This song is a reminder to embrace my individuality and feel confident in my own skin. This song is my ode to celebrating the strength of being a woman and the power of being true to who you are." – AJA

Out & About with Hayes Warner

at Lollapalooza

Dreams Really Do Come True! Just ask Glassnote recording artist Hayes Warner. As a teenager and an avid music lover, she attended Lollapalooza, passing through the gates with throngs of other kids, to catch their favorite bands. A few years later while attending college in Chicago, she was asked where she'd like to be in four years. Her answer, "I'd like to perform at Lollapalooza". It turns out it only took her two years to get there. Best known for her song "Just a Girl", Hayes, made a triumphant return to the fabled festival…this time through the artist's entrance. She did the backstage boogie, doing several interviews, taking pictures, and signing autographs before she did her first of two sets on the BMI Stage, followed by a thirty-minute set on the Budlight Backyard Stage, taking the opportunity on both to introduce her new single "Predator" to the extremely receptive crowds. It was a "Pinch Me" experience for this terrific upcoming artist, whose blossoming career will certainly have many more. Be sure to keep an ear out for "Predator" playing overhead in stores for the rest of the summer and beyond.

Have a great week,

Scott Emerson
