We're Back

The What's In-Store Music office is open and ready for business. We just returned from two weeks in Japan, and oh my gosh, what a trip. To say it's like another world over there would be the understatement of the year. EVERYTHING is different from America, the food, the gadgets, the styles, the culture, and the natural beauty are all like nothing we've ever seen. We can't say enough about it. If you have the chance, make the trip. You'll be glad you did. In the meantime, we're back and ready for your summertime submissions. Charts and reports will resume on Monday, then look out summer, here we come! If you have something you'd like to submit, you can do it HERE!

"Be Like That"

"'BE LIKE THAT' is an upbeat, happy-go-lucky pop song about loving someone even when they frustrate you. The production flirts with the line between hyperpop and classic pop music. I incorporated a lot of fun sound design throughout the song that mirrors the words mentioned in the lyrics."

Out & About with Scott Emerson
in Japan
April 5th - 18th, 2025

We just got back from my wife's birthday trip to Japan. It turned out to be the perfect time to go, as it was cherry blossom season. People come from far and wide to see these beautiful trees in bloom, and they did not disappoint. The trip included stops in Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, and back to Tokyo before returning home. We toured the cities, experienced the Shibuya crossing, met a real-life Geisha girl, played with otters, took a ramen-making class, and so much more. If you have the chance to go, do it. It was a truly amazing experience. I must thank my wife, Monica "Trip Adviser" Emerson, for planning this wonderful adventure.
Have a great week,
Scott Emerson
