Christmas My Favorite Time of Year by Kelvin Frazier, Ph.D.

"'Christmas My Favorite Time of Year' was born out of one of the most difficult moments of my life - and transformed into a song of pure joy. I started writing it back in 2021, right in the middle of the COVID pandemic, while studying at Berklee College of Music. The world felt heavy; I had even lost a family member to the virus. But in the middle of that grief, I wanted to create something that lifted my spirit - something that reminded me of happiness, warmth, and togetherness.

The idea came to me in fragments - melodies and lyrics while walking alone through a park, recording little vocal notes on my phone. Later, back in my hotel room, which I had turned into a makeshift studio, those small pieces came together like wrapping paper and ribbon around a gift. "Christmas My Favorite Time of Year" became that gift - to myself, to my family, and to anyone who needed a reason to smile again.

Now, living in Hawai'i, I decided to finally finish and release it - my first new song in two years. It feels like the start of something new, a return to the joy of creating music again. This song captures everything I love about the season - the lights, the laughter, the love - and the reminder that even in our darkest times, there's always a reason to sing.'
