Twenty-five years ago, The Hotel Café opened its doors for the very first time - a small room with a tiny stage that, over the years, took on many forms. From the beginning, it was a haven for live music lovers, hosting tens of thousands of performances, from national touring acts to baby bands cutting their teeth in front of packed houses filled with friends, fans, and curious newcomers. Some artists even stepped on that stage for the very first time, hoping and praying for a clap or two when their set was done.

Several years ago, the club expanded to include a second performance space, creating even more opportunities for musical discovery. For many in the Los Angeles music community, The Hotel Café has felt like an extension of our own living rooms - a place we've gathered, worked, celebrated, and fallen in love with countless songs and artists.

They say, "All good things must come to an end," and sadly, that time has come for this beloved Hollywood landmark. The Hotel Café will be closing its doors in early 2026. But as the saying goes, "When one door closes, another opens."

A new chapter awaits. In 2027, The Hotel Café will reopen inside the Lumina Hollywood on Sunset Blvd. - a reimagined space designed to honor the intimacy and spirit of the original while offering a more modern, elevated experience for both artists and audiences alike.

We'll miss the magic of the old room, but we can't wait to see what's next.
