Sometimes a song just refuses to let go.
Miljenko Matijević first recorded his version of “Without You” nearly 30 years ago, but after Mariah Carey’s version became a worldwide hit, he put his recording away and waited. Three decades later, he pulled it back out and discovered that the emotion he felt when he first recorded it was still there. This time, he gave the song an entirely new treatment, surrounding his powerful vocal with a 40-piece orchestra. For Matijević, “Without You” isn't simply a cover of a classic—it’s a piece of his own musical history finally getting its moment. The result is an intensely emotional performance that brings new life to a song about love, loss, and the feeling that life simply isn't the same without the person you love.
